7 Ways Generation Z Is Different Than Millennials

Generation Z or “Gen Z” are those who are born after 1998, and guess what? They’re now influencing businesses because the oldest among them are entering university age or heading to work. And, if you didn’t realize it, the shiny new generation is larger than the Millennials, which businesses have been enamored with for years. The time has come to shift our gaze, as hard as it may be, from Millennials and begin to look at Gen Z because they are about to become the next marketing obsession.

Each generation has its distinct characteristics, and Gen Z is no different. Let’s take a look at some of the fundamental ways they differ from the Millennials because it will ultimately impact how your business markets to them.

  1. Give Them More Authenticity: Gen Z picked up on the same interest of Millennials to want to authenticity and transparency; however, Gen Z wants more of it. A great example of this in business is how American Eagle has discovered that it’s zero Photoshop policy has attracted fans from the Gen Z generation than Millennials.
  2. Conversation Comes Through Technology: Gen Z is interested in related to brands and businesses through technology. If you want to reach this generation of consumer, you need to tell them your story in platforms, such as Snapchat. Gen Z must have its devices, and they first relate to businesses through their devices and then in other ways. Think if mobile as the funnel through which you engage for everything with Gen Z, including even offering the news.
  3. Skip College, Straight to Work: Generation Z understands that they are living in a whole new world. More traditional routes, such as going to college, in their view don’t apply to them in the digital age. Gen Z is not interested in massive debt loads with student loans, and economists are expecting a high level of late teens to skip school and go straight into the workforce.
  4. Forget Teamwork: Millennials are known for their desire to be collaborative and work as part of a team in a shared experience. Not so with Gen Z. They are reverting to from earlier generations that preferred to compete with each other. Gen Z is not interested in sharing their workspaces, and the majority are not interested in collaborative “team” working environments.
  5. Independence is The Focal Point: Along with a similar vein of Gen Z eschewing teams, Gen Z is a much more independent generation. Gen Z is not interested in sporting any particular “hot” brands. Instead, they are individualistic, and they want others to view them as unique individuals. Businesses that are interested in marketing to the new generation have to think about storytelling that celebrates the individual.
  6. Business Risk Taking: Millennials were notoriously wary about starting their businesses, and the opposite is true with Gen Z. Gen Z is 55 percent more likely to want to become an entrepreneur in their own business than Millennials. It stands to reason that if many from this generation will not be going to college that many will want to become business owners–particularly because work trends continue to move from employment to freelancing, consulting, etc.
  7. Face-to-Face is Back in Fashion: Millennials have a stronger preference for communication through technology, such as chats, video conferencing or texts. However, Gen Z prefers face-to-face contact (which makes me happy). 53 percent of the Gen Z population favor to meet in person to discuss issues. How about that? What’s “old” is new again.

Generation Z is a significant segment of the population. In fact, Gen Z represents 26 percent of the population. The reality is that with its considerable size, and the fact that they were born in the digital age and think their WiFi connection is more important than even a bathroom, this brand-spanking-new generation is on the cusp of revolutionizing business and society.

Do it Yourself Wind Power – Learn How to Make a Simple Windmill to Generate Energy

It is sad that we are suffering from this so-called energy crisis when we have all this free alternative energy around us. One of the free sources of energy is call wind, surprised huh, wind can easily be harnessed with windmills and do it yourself wind power generators. Wind power is a renewable energy source that will be around forever, and does not give off any toxins when making energy unlike Fossil Fuels. Being renewable means that we can harvest the wind all day and night for as long as we live, it will never run out. No matter how many windmills that you have build around your home, you alone will never stop the wind from generating energy.

With creating a windmill you could save thousands of dollars every month off your electric bill. You will be able to get off the electric power grid that just by making your own windmills. What would you be able to do if you save just 200 dollars a month from your power bills? The other great thing is, if you are saving money from one windmill you could easily make more and save more.

I'm going to tell you the different types of wind power systems so you can get a better understanding.

  • Large : These are commercial grade windmill that you see on the wind farms.
  • Medium : Simply a smaller than the commercial grade but not with the best parts.
  • Small : These are Fan Blades.

This is one of the most important things you should know if you plan on making a windmill to power your house.

When you have a fan blade system that is installed on the top of a tower or even you house roof, the blades spin to make kinetic energy, then the generator covers it into electricity to use for anything you want. The fan blades are connected to a shaft that is then connected to a wind power generator. If the blades of the windmill are not spinning fast enough no electricity will be generated. There may be times when the speeds of the wind increase so much that your windmill may break by spinning so fast. But do not worry; the windmill has brakes the automatically slow down the windmill if speeds are too fast.

Factors to Consider Before Selecting Electrical Contractors

There is a requirement for electrical services whenever new offices and homes are built. Electrical contractors, who take up electrical work in flats, homes, building sites or new business establishments, provide electrical installation or electrical services. Even those who are renovating their homes look to electrical engineers to do things that they cannot do themselves such as installation of ceiling fans or security lighting.

Even for work outside of home renovation, electrical services may be required. For instance, when there is wire damage due to storms or hurricanes, homeowners will need the services of electricians. Although it may be quite easy to locate an electrical contractor to carryout electrical repair work on your home, selecting the right one can make all the difference. There are many factors to consider before selecting an electrician.

It is essential to select an electrical contracting professional who is thoroughly qualified to take up the job. It would be better if the contractor is a member of a reputed institution such as the Electrical Contractors of Ireland (RECI) as it can impart better results in the outcome of the project. The advice of friends and family can also be sought before hiring electrical engineer to perform the service. The accreditation of each electrical contractor must be confirmed. Customers must be provided with professional advice with regard to their electrical requirements.

It would be advantageous for customers to hire a full service electrical contractor company as it offers a range of electrical services at a cheaper price. These companies normally comply with all government regulations and are licensed fully. The electrical contractors working in these companies are fully equipped to install, maintain, design and repair commercial, residential and industrial electrical projects and electrical systems. Such a company provides all the supplies and electrical parts necessary for these projects. Generator installation, surge protection and lightning protection are some of the other electrical solutions offered by a full service electrical contractor company.

When it comes to electrical services rendered by inside electrical contractors, all electrical work both outdoors and indoors are managed by them within the limits of their commercial, residential or industrial arena. They may work with junction boxes, fuse boxes, electric wires, circuit breakers, outdoor lighting, indoor lighting, patio fans, outdoor fans, ceiling fan repair, recessed lighting and water heaters. They can also take up work related to home energy audits.

Outside or line electrical contractors can do more extensive electrical jobs such as transmission of power from power plants to substations, facilities and users. Electric generation systems such as power plant equipment and hydroelectric energy are also managed by them.

Many types of electricians such as journeyman electricians, apprentice electricians, project supervisor and estimator electricians can find employment in a full service electrical contract company. Apprentice electricians can get practical experience along with their training program. Journeyman electricians possessing state licenses can install, design, repair, modify and maintain electrical projects and systems. They can also repair concealed as well as external wiring, install and terminate cables, and troubleshoot commercial, residential and industrial electrical wiring based on technical sketches and details.

It is better to try to locate a qualified electrical contractor who not only knows his job but also is able to do it in a professional manner so that the project gets completed without hassles.

Run Your Car on Hydrogen Gas With an HHO Conversion Kit

As gas prices continue to rise, people will continue to look for alternate sources of fuel to run their cars. Don’t let fuel costs continue to burn a hole in your wallet. Run your car on hydrogen with the help of an HHO Conversion Kit. Soon, we will all be driving some kind of Hydrogen Fuel Cars. Why not be the first one on your street to reap the benefits?

But what is a HHO Conversion Kit? Is it Safe? Where Can you buy them? These are all important questions. The answers are actually quite simple.

What is an HHO Conversion Kit:

Hydrogen gas, or HHO, is a flammable gas and can be used for fuel. When properly utilized, HHO can be used in your car to improve your gas mileage. HHO Conversion Kits are devices that when assembled and installed in your car, create a hydrogen generator that can be used to supplement typical gasoline fuel in your car. Hydrogen generators are an effective means to run your car on hydrogen. You’ll still need to get typical unleaded fuel from your neighborhood gas station, but you’ll cut the consumption of this fuel in half, if not more. HHO Conversion Kits are inexpensive to build and install. Even a novice handyman can do it. Hydrogen Conversion Kit manuals and/or ebooks tell you how to create a hydrogen generator from basic materials available at any hardware store.

How can you generate hydrogen gas from materials at a hardware store? Isn’t it more complicated? Not really. Hydrogen can be created by a chemical process called Electrolysis. Basically, you only need electricity and water. Your car battery can supply plenty of electricity, and water is just about free from the tap inside your home. You won’t need to create anything that sparks to burn the hydrogen gas. As hydrogen gas is created, it gets routed into the air intake of your car. From then on, your car’s engine does the rest with no additional changes to the parts of your car. That’s all you’ll need to run your car on hydrogen fuel. The unit is compact and it takes very little room under the hood of your car.

When you run your car on Hydrogen you’ll see many benefits:

– Improve your gas mileage up to 67%

– Reduce harmful CO2 emissions from your exhaust

– Smoother running engine

– Faster acceleration

– IRS tax benefits!

Is it safe?

When you run your car on hydrogen from a HHO generator, you face very little additional risk. Yes, you are creating a flammable gas, but this gas is sent directly into the engine. You car carries around a tank full of flammable gas all the time! The HHO generator creates the fuel on-demand, so there is no excess fuel to act as a hazard.

Where can you buy them?

Costs of the HHO Generator vary. Some ebooks say it can be built for $60, others for $150. At $60, to build an generator to run your car on hydrogen is equal to the cost of one tank of gas! That is an immediate return on your investment and time. If you are afraid of the manual labor to build the HHO generator, you can buy them for upwards of $5,000.

HHO Generators are an immediate solution to high gas prices. One can be built in just a few hours, and the savings begin immediately.

Steam Boilers – Hassle Free Power Generation

A steam boiler is generally a machine to boil water, thereby to create steam which is then used for generating energy. A boiler is an air tight vessel in which a liquid is heated and the vapor exits at a high temperature and pressure. Normally used for heating and energy purposes. Apart from conventional energy sources, a modern steam boiler uses electricity instead of gasoline or coal. Here, there is an eco friendly aspect to using such a source for energy needs. These machines are available in many shapes and varieties like the electric boiler, hot water boiler and the vertical tubeless steam generators. Thermal energy is now being considered as an energy source of the future considering it's environmental impact is the least as compared to energy obtained from fossil fuels.

The pressure vessel contained in the boiler is made of steel nowdays although initially copper was used because of its high conductivity. Cast iron may also be used for the heating chamber but it would have been used for the purpose of hot water and not steam. The brittle and fragile nature of cast iron despite makes it unsafe to be used in a high pressure steam boiler.

In the growing industrialization phase and with the pressures of environmental pollution and potential degradation of the environment due to constant burning of fossil fuels, steam boilers may soon be the most widely used method of power and heat generation. Its key benefits are that it has a relatively low installation cost and essentially maintenance free. An added benefit is that it does not need a separate boiler room in which it should be installed. The installation can be done at any suitable place not too close to crowded areas. It works silently and emissions are totally not present. In a way, these boilers offer more safety and protection to the factory workers because there is no risk of a gas leakage or explosion because it runs on electricity and not fuel, and absolutely no risk of an explosion if the electric boilers are running with less than required amount of water.

Apart from this, routine check ups should have done to ensure that the boiler is working efficiently and has not developed any leaks or damages. Most boilers have a pre installed mechanism for detecting low water levels, but the older models need to be regularly monitored in order to prevent mishaps in the work place. Steam boilers have a long and promising way into the future and promise to reduce our dependence on fossil fuels.

How Hydrogen Generators For Cars Will Improve Your Mileage

Many people spend hundreds of dollars every week in gas. The US addiction of foreign oil is really a national security hazard. Here we are going to talk about a new technology, based on water, to significantly increase the mileage.

Water is more potent than gasoline. This seems not to be true, but the reality is the following: due to Hydrogen, from water can ge created a gas called. HHO. This gas is 3 times more potent than gas. Also, we must tell you that the use of HHO as fuel, is a growing trend to boost the performance and mileage of your car or truck.

There are some outstanding features about this new technology. First, the people who created this technology used an old pantent. They created a simple device. This device is easy to install and maintain. If works in both old and new vehicles. The process to generate energy from water is very simple. The device improves the energy generated by the engine or better said, uses the energy wasted by the engine in form of heat, vibration and pollution.

Many of us might be concerned about the safety of this revolutionary device used to create Hydrogen on demand. This technology is safe because you will not storage the Hydrogen in any tank. Also there are no engine modifications. Many people might expect variations in the mileage performance because different engines produce different results.

You will not have to take care of this device, because when you fill the tank with water in the engine, this water is multiplied hundreds of times. You might drive 900 miles without touching this device. The secret to this performance is the following: plain water has compressed Hydrogen by itself, you just need to release it. You can double, even triple your mileage.

Here's a Quick Look at Homemade Energy Devices

Everyday we are slammed with higher costs for living. Fuel goes up. That drives the utility costs up. The ultimate consumer winds up holding the bag for all of it. We just do not have any place to pass the costs on.

You wonder what are some of the homemade energy devices that you could build to at least strike a small blow toward the juggernaut of industry that is threatening to crush us.

Some categories of home energy fall into the production of electrical current.

Sunlight is abundant and free. It falls without fail most days of the year. Why not at least use a little of it for you own power needs.

Solar electrical generating systems are available in many different sizes. The basic components are solar panels to convert sunlight into electrical current, a charge controller to regulate that current, a bank of storage batteries to store the current, and an inverter to create the 120 volts to power your life.

This type of project is a major expense to install a workable system and is not beyond the do it yourself category. There are many companies that advertise on the internet that provide information about size and equipment prices. Some searching for solar power will turn up a wealth of information.

Solar Hot Water Heaters lend them easily to the build it yourself category. The major components of a solar hot water system are the collector box, heat exchanger, and storage tank.

These may be adapted from existing hardware such as copper tubing, old refrigerators coils, or air conditioner coils. Discarded aluminum frame windows make glass covers for the collector box at a low price. Info for solar hot water systems is readily found with an internet search.

Solar heating systems are the third type of solar energy for the homeowner. Although usually included during the construction of the dwelling, retrofitting a home for solar heat is not impossible. Solar heat can be either passive or active.

Generating systems range from a homemade gas powered generator using a car alternator and batteries, to wind and hydroelectric generating systems.

A simple gas generator for emergency power is possible using a discarded lawnmower engine and a car alternator with a built in regulator to charge some storage batteries. Adding an inverter will allow some small electrical appliances to be powered in a power outage.

Wind power generating systems can be installed by the homeowner in areas where the zoning laws do not conflict and wind current is available on a regular basis. Building your own system involves special electronics and woodworking skills but is not beyond the well equipped do it yourself craftsman.

Micro hydroelectric power generation is feasible if you live near a fast running stream with a constant flow of water. Again, charging a bank of batteries and using an inverter to power the home is standard procedure.

All of these different systems can be researched on the internet. The information is available both in free and more complete book form.

No Generator Output? Flashing The Field To Fix Or Troubleshoot

As a former employee and current owner of an industrial generator rental company and electrician with 15 years of generator troubleshooting experience, I’ve had many situations where the engine powering the genset is running great, but the generator isn’t producing any electricity. There are plenty of articles on the internet explaining how to flash the field in order to re-magnetize the generator, but this one will go a step further and also explain how artificially exciting a generator can aid in narrowing down the cause of the failure.

Just because you don’t see any volts on your panel meter doesn’t mean that you won’t be electrocuted. Remember, the panel meter can be flawed, check it with a hand held multimeter. Secondly, flashing a field results in a build up of magnetism within the generator. Over time of inactivity, the magnetism may dissipate entirely and flashing the field “refills” the missing magnetism. It is, however, entirely possible that the reason for the generator losing output isn’t related to a lack of residual magnetism in the generator. If this is the case, then there will be a voltage present that is lower than the rated output voltage, but definitely enough to cause a painful electrocution.

Use a multimeter to check if there is any voltage present at all. If there is, then it’s a good indication that the problem is not within the generator.

Shut the machine off and locate the voltage regulator. You’ll find 2 wires marked F+ and F-. Pay close attention to where each is and remove them. Put your multimeter on “Ohms” and measure the resistance across them and write down the result. Unfortunately each manufacturer has different values as normal, but 0 and infinite ohms are two bad news signs that you’ll require the services of a generator rewind shop. If you have ohms, leave the wires off and keep reading.

Ideally you’ll have a variable DC supply available. If not, use a 9V battery, or even a car battery and carefully hook up the [+ to F+] and the [- to F-].

Start the engine, and keep it at low idle if possible. You should instantly notice a voltage is present. As you increase engine RPM, you’ll notice the voltage will increase. Do not go beyond rated voltage. Keep the machine running for 30 seconds and shut off the engine.

Re-connect the F+ and F- to their original location. Now start the engine and see if you have volts.

By flashing the field and bringing the machine up to proper voltage, you’ve effectively ruled out any problems within the generator’s main windings (the most expensive repair).

You should now focus on the AVR (automatic voltage regulator), a fuse in line with the AVR, or a wire or switch that supplies the AVR. Do “tug testing” of wires, visually inspect everything that you can. If nothing wrong is found, contact the manufacturer of the generator and find out what the ohms of the field should be and compare it to what you found earlier.
